Literally didnโt do it. So the theory is wrong.
Looks like it used to be possible to fake zap other people back when zaps were new, which was what I thought I remembered too, but hereโs where it was fixed in Damus. No doubt some of the other clients had the issue too and fixed it after this. Nostr.band probably never purged those from their stats, as I think thatโs the only place now you can see that.
