I'd love to see more polished work on these ideas, for sure!

GrapheneOS is already very polished. I daily it. Works like AOSP but a load of extra security and privacy behind the scenes. Google apps can optionally be installed but they're sandboxed like any normal app. No special access or system level.
Projects like Pinephone have a way to go yet but are very very promising for the future.
I've almost gone Graphene a few times, but I haven't had time to start from scratch.
It's well worth it trust me!
I'm certain it is! But, I also run multiple businesses, and not only is that a time investment if it breaks my shit or I lose important data I'm fucked.
But shit like today makes me question if it should be prioritized a bit more.
You should have, in the words of Kevin Gates: "two phones, one for the bitches and one for the dough."
I actually do have an older Motorola backup π€
I should look to see there's build for that phone and do a test Graphene load on it before I do on my primary.
It needs a Pixel.
I recommend a 6a if you want a decent one that'll be supported for a few years on a budget. Can probably get em on eBay for half retail. And retail was only $399 or something.
Ah, see so it's a new phone deal π
Has to be unfortunately. Simple reason is only a Pixel supports every firmware and bootloader level security feature for third party OS's. For most Android phones you must keep your bootloader unlocked which is a big security risk.
Yeah, so that goes on the list after
1. Moar corn
2. A new server
I second this
