Honestly, I'm an old school BASIC and M68k Assembler programmer and I have not seen anything except Go that actually gives you that low level power without the low level cost.
Programmers are mosly retarded. They don't even understand binary logic very well, they want their expensive to implement variants, objects and generics, because they are too lazy to copy and paste and have no imagination that maybe sometimes you can get a result and an error at the same time.
