Is Marriage a Scam?

Many getting married are discouraged by members of society who have explored the sea of marriege and, unfortanately failed terribly. We see many separations/divorces or worse, suicide and murder. Yet, we also see some couples claiming to be happily married. Something that I pick from my observation is that there's a terrible thing society has set and forever blinded us. Is marriage such a BIG scam?
