Its a ₿radford Pear, one of the worst smelling trees, and it doesn’t produce any fruit I can eat

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyrus_calleryana

Well, imagine if a bunch of trees started fuzilating people because we also don’t produce fruit for them? Hahaha

Indeed, its not best for that tree, however i can replace it with native PawPaws, ₿lack walnut, or hazelnut tree. Thinking long term in the yard

* me annoyingly hugging the tree in protest *

No. Some things in nature are shitty. You don't need to save every living thing. Fuck Mosquitos. Fuck roaches. Fuck fire ants.

Every other kind of ant is cool. Ants and bees are great pollinators.

Hi person, I can see that you’re having a very hard week.

I'm not sure what led to that inference...

I was semi joking back but I guess comedy is hard. So you like fire ants, roaches and mosquitos?

I was hugging a tree, not a mosquito… 🄹

Some trees are shitty too. Like the bradford pear. Nature is rough.

Well, one day the Ents from Lord of the rings will come after both of you and I’m gonna say:

šŸ’… choices ✨

Eh I don’t mind mosquitos they leave me alone enough. I live trap mice in my house cause I get it, I live there too.

While not fun most ā€œpestsā€ are simply using a resource that is in excess. Too many roaches, maybe you need an ashtray or something. Too many mosquitoes you have an access of standing water and require more spiders.

We keep the lizard population thriving around our house to keep the pests down actually. It works really great.

We love our spiders too.

Well good news, I am way to ₿usy to take down that tree anytime soon. And I would need a few others to replace it. So come give it a hug anytime.

Yeeeey šŸ«‚ I need a hug tree version of this emoji.

As a minimalist and a clean freak; it still shocks me how all those that you mentioned still want to invade my household/family.

Already have involved the council to address the fire ants - the guy who came days he’s never seen them come into the house before… so, I should feel special?

For context, our home is less than 12mths old. šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

Fire ants are the worst. Invasive pests, displacing native populations. Stinging humans, destroying grazing fields for bigger animals. They're just bad. But I guess they don't usually make their way indoors. They thrive in heat. Solinopsis Invicta to be precise with the species. If you see them, kill them. They're no good for anything.

Wait till you see what homospaians do.

Yea but homosapiens have a soul. We're more important. Inherently so. That's the story of human progress.

I AM a homosapien, I'd like to see this species thrive. I really don't care if that means we must displace other species in order to thrive. The key is knowing what we can displace without detriment to ourselves. Killing fireants, net positive for the enviornment and homosapiens. Killing Bees, net negative for homosapiens. We need the to pollinate our food! So if we are displacing fire ants, that's a good thing. If we're displacing the rain forrest, that's a bad thing.

Get some chickens. They'll turn those nasty things into delicious eggs, or even fried chicken!!

We really do need some chickens. We've been thinking about getting some for a couple years now. The wife is 39 weeks pregnant ATM though so maybe next year after things settle down.

Well, first congratulations on the baby!!!! And chickens might be a little much as they need babied at first, unless you get full grown ones.

No, we would definitely start with chicks but because of the attention needed, we obviously can't do that with a 2 year old and newborn šŸ˜‚ . My wife is retiring to homestead and homeschool when our youngest is old enough for public school. We will probably get some then. An important learning experience for the children as well.

Here in Brazil people just trow some chicken there and doesn’t give attention at all

My vote is for the paw paw tree. You need more than 1 to pollinate though.
