GM Nostr! Cornish cross at 5 weeks. I expected them to be bigger by now, but their feed consumption has jumped this week, so I'm guessing they will put on more weight in these last few weeks. This is our first time raising Cornish Cross We normally just cull our extra orpington and bresse roosters. #chickens #homesteading #grownostr

I'm anticipating a lesser quality meat, but hopefully not too much and hopefully a greater amount of meat per bird.

It’s better to put the weight on at the end, means they built better infrastructure at the start for carrying around their heavy bodies
In the freezer they go! 15 Cornish crosses, 8 American Bresse cockrels, and 1 A-hole rooster.
