Got a chance to see some old friends last weekend. One is now a general counsel at an early stage crypto NFT startup. I made sure to show him Nostr and chat him up about bitcoin and decentralization as much as I could. His company has their own blockchain they are trying to sell along with NFT’s and other 2017ish blockchain shit. Hilarious lol

My friend is extremely smart and capable, but is still under the impression that Eth is “completely decentralized”. Even after mentioning the change to proof of stake and how that’s obviously not a decentralized structure, he still didn’t believe me but I could see his mind chewing it over.

I even threw out my favorite line:

“So, proof of stake has stakeholders, right? Ok, therefore it is not decentralized. When have you ever heard the term “stakeholder” in a decentralized context?”

😂😂😂 I’m about to send him a list of Nostr links and a link to some gifted sats for him to pay him back for breakfast. Only time will tell if I changed his mind.
