Silly games like this help onboard developers so they learn the skills & build the tools they need to build actually useful programs. Chess is better played elsewhere. But you know what you need to make chess? Functions! And you know what BitVM lacks right now? Functions! So it's a huge help

BitVM looks like a wORlD ComPUtEr to me🤪 I don't think that all of something new is a good thing. It can be a new problem like a shitcoin was.

I don't know what *your* needs are but let me share one of my "wants." I want tornado cash on bitcoin. I want to park some funds in a non-custodial bitcoin address where a bunch of other people have money too, knowing I can take out the same amount later, but now in a different, anonymized utxo.
I want to see if I can build a tornado cash with bitvm, and if I can, I think a tornado cash clone is (in theory) better than a coinjoin. That's because everyone involved in a coinjoin needs to cosign the same psbt, and in tornado cash, they don't. To *use* a coinjoin, you either need everyone involved to be online (i.e. you can't do it without an always-on device) or you need to wait for them to *come* online (which slows down your transaction). In tornado cash, you can use your cell phone to deposit money on Monday, and come back Friday to get it (but now anonymized), without ever giving anyone custody of your money.
Tornado cash is one example. I also think bitvm might bring me better sidechains and more advanced covenants than the kinds I know how to do today. Like I said, I don't know what your needs are. Maybe you don't need bitvm, and if that's the case, great! You don't need to use it, you can just ignore it, I'm not asking you to do anything. But me and the people who want these new functions can build and use them with bitvm, and that makes me happy.
