i love my alby hub. i keep my coins mainly in teh onchain and keep some channels open and topped up (i wish i had more control over which channels received payments though so i could distribute it better, sometimes the one channel with funds goes down just when i need it).

when that happens, an atomic swap in often happens in a matter of minutes, very occasionally it takes an hour but more usually under 5 minutes.

i can zap sats into my xapo bank with lightning in a matter of seconds and then go out and spend it, and it stays as bitcoin until the moment of payment. the only kind of payments that don't directly trigger a sell of bitcoin are SWIFT/SEPA payments which i have to exchange to dollars before i can perform teh payment, and then after it's done, the change i buy bitcoin back again, the only time i have to manually trigger exchange.

the onchain wallet of my lightning node i also have the same seed on a blockstream green wallet so even if my node goes down permanently, i can move the coins out or pay them onchain, and the worst case scenario is the balance of my channels would not return to the onchain wallet for a week, which is why i generally only keep a balance in there enough for the next time i need to top up my xapo account.
