you can grow weed/hemp outdoors in Canada. i'm sure you wohldn't have any trouble. it is an adaptable and hearty plant. they grow hemp for eating (the seeds) in Manitoba.

Seems as though it will fall under the same legislation that weed does.
So 4 plant max.
