Translation:
POW: Don’t exchange me, let me serve a sentence and I’ll stay.
Ukr: what you gonna do over here ?
POW: I’ll help, I can build houses.
Ukr: what about fighting.
POW: I’m the type of person I can’t kill anybody. Even when my commander gave me a gun I told him I wouldn’t shoot at anybody. I hid in the forest with 6 magazines and when I surrendered the guys checked me and I really did have 6 full magazines.
Ukr: you say you don’t want to go home, but your wife and kid is there what about them?
POW: I’ll figure a way to contact them through the internet tell them everything is ok.
Ukr: but they’re gonna say you are a traitor (to the government).
POW: no she won’t.
Ukr: but the kid will.
POW: no he wont
Ukr: maybe better go home?
POW: better with you guys. If I go back to the motherland everything will start bad.
Ukr: why?
POW: I’ll just start drinking.
Ukr: like you won’t do that here?
POW: no here you can work, and make money! I won’t drink. You can make money and buy a house.
Ukr: well you say you don’t know anything about Ukraine! And you say you can get work.
POW: you guys will have plenty of work! Even won’t need to search for it they’ll be tons.
Ukr: why will there be plenty of work?
POW: rebuilding everything.
Ukr: you know everything is fucked, ruined.
POW: yes the boys showed me the videos.
Ukr: what video?
POW: that everything got bombarded, certain cities there’s no houses no nothing.
Ukr: which cities?
POW: artemovski, Mariupol.
Ukr: there is a practice where the POWs rebuild what they destroyed?
POW: well if the possibility exists why wouldn’t there be?
Ukr: because we need to exchange for our own POWs back.
POW: even if you exchange me I’ll run away from Russia back to you guys.
