WEF founder Klaus Schwab frequently declares that "the future isn't just happening — it's shaped by us," often adding "by those who are in this room."
He views the WEF not as a mere discussion forum, but as the central hub for global decision-making — one destined to replace "ineffective" bodies like the UN, which he claims have created a "lack of global governance." According to Schwab, such a power center is needed to "mentor the population" and directly engineer the future.
But what is the nature of this engineered future?
First, Schwab says that digital technologies will soon shift "into a prescriptive mode." He believes this could make elections unnecessary, as algorithms would predict outcomes in advance.

Schwab also envisions a future defined not by ownership, but by "sharing things." This same perspective has been echoed by other WEF speakers, who have suggested relinquishing not only personal cars but also everyday possessions like phones and washing machines.
