nostr.band has a similar service. https://media.nostr.band/

Do you think this could be something that could be interchangeable? this seems like an issue all clients have and it would cool to have some kind of standard for talking to these servers.

Yep, Snort has another one as well. I just didn't want to break their servers yet. :)

I think that is an issue that needs to be addressed. In my server at the moment it is not a problem but in the long run it is clearly unsustainable if we want to be global
