I agree.... to a certain extent.
Anyone can make beer, so to that extent, it isn't really that deep.
Most beers are pretty good so you can't really mess up beer.
But some beers are clearly better than others and that incremental difference, is proof of work, i.e. attention to detals, secret sauce, etc.
That, could be pretty deep.
I think Japanese craft brewers are doing their best.
They are good.
Probably cause the water is exceptional in Japan.
i.e. good sake, good whiskey etc.
Most of the craft beers are the same though, they use German barley.
Some use barley that is grown in that region and I think those are special.
Have you been to the yona yona ale bars?
They have Yaho beers on tap and they are delicious.
