You also need to make sure you choose a database that can scale. For example, nostr users want Nostr to take over everything...Twitter, Facebook has thousands of Database servers all connected together and replicating.....Nostr needs something that can scale out easilly and cache well such as Scylla DB, Cassandra, or other NoSQL databases. They are shrimple to use from the sysadmin side to the DB admin side. But nobody is thinking forward and we are stuck with the tech we have now
