Legit this is why the more technically able of us should run our own personal media uploaders.

When only used by a small group of people (compared to Amethyst) the costs are way cheaper especially if you use object storage (like S3, but there's plenty of competition offering the same thing now) and it creates a more decentralised environment.

It would be cool to have a self hosted image server that integrated with Nostr clients, enter your server address, keys, and go!

This is what I'm tryna build! Making a site to upload media is the easy bit. I want Nostr integration so for example you can sign in and have a button to post it right there. Use your key as your account. Zap some sats to upload uncompressed images. So much potential in it.

Shouldn't even be difficult tbh it's just that Nostr is so new it's not well documented just yet but this is my current project.

At the same time I'm learning Go, seems like the best way to put something like this together.

I'll be keeping an eye on this for sure!
