My relay is backed up daily... To a raid 5 array. I'm weird . It's a private personal relay. Unless there is a catastrophic weather event I think they're safe.

still centralized, the point of nostr is the content can live on independant of any one server

decentralized media is easy to implement we just need hashed ids like we have npubs for users but instead it would be for media

then relays and clients would have repos for media to look for those hash ids, simplest way would be to adopt much of ipfs

Yes but centralization isn't inherently bad. Especially if you are the centrality of your own content. Not everything must be decentralized. It's not an effective means of data retrieval.
