Katahdin hair sheep have finished grazing another pasture.

The sheep grazed through the pasture around the pond in 12 days. I decided to skip the paddock in the woods this pass because it wasn't recovered enough so all things considered they are still moving at a great pace for this late in the season. I decided to skip pruning trees to feed them here, which might have been a mistake. The way things are looking, the leaves may have fallen by the time the she return for the final grazing of this pasture for the season.

Looks great! We're finally considering getting some sheep that we would pasture with cows, and it's been so good to see your updates.

We're on steep hills, which I think sheep will manage fine, but it takes the pasture much longer to recover, and moving the fencing is challenging.

I'm glad you're getting something out of it. The way we manage the sheep is definitely specific to our situation. The main concept of rotating paddocks will remain but it's likely that you end up doing something totally different than the way we do things here. I think Greg Judy has his sheep contained with one line of poly braid fencing.
