That's the beauty of Bitcoin and Nostr

It’s available to anyone 💜 It will be used by some…hopefully more in time. I specifically wanted to reiterate this point about for-profit businesses in the context of content/artists. Most people don’t realize that creating “content” (videos, visual art, writing, music, etc) is a business for so many today. Some people outright attack its legitimacy as a business endeavor. The problem is that ad-driven media and social platforms have created the cringeworthy “influencer culture” and have trained us to expect professional level quality content without paying anything out of pocket for it. Some people here (not all, but some) are shocked and even offended if you talk about generating revenue and turning a profit off of content on nostr. It’s a mindset I will keep pushing back against, because creating content, creating art, etc, is a legitimate business for those who approach it as such, and they pour countless hours into honing their craft and putting out content for others to enjoy.

Don't worry about the naysayers, and all their critiques brother. Keep doing you, and pushing forward.

We all have our specific passions and talents. If we apply those to build the world we want to live in, then it's a righteous endeavor.

Even though many artists find this distasteful, it’s true: creating art for other people is just providing a good or service (depending on the nature of the contract).

Just like the rest of us, artists have to make a profit if they want to be successful providing the good or service.

It’s difficult for some to themselves admit that their art has monetary value. Some don’t care at all, and are happy to enjoy their hobby and that’s perfectly ok too. But for those who see their art as their craft and treat it like a business, they are already trying to find ways to generate revenue from it. If they can do so here, they will stay. If they can’t, they’ll leave it at least not give nostr any priority. You don’t setup a coffee shop in the middle of nowhere where you’ll only get one or two customers. You build where you are able to grow and attract customers/audience/etc.
