GM everyone!

Working on this and interested in anyone helpful’s thoughts… I’m pulling the drawers out on this and planting herbs and hanging plants in random drawers

I plan to spray it down with 1 or 2 coats of water proofing agent but do you guys think I probably need to drill a hole in the bottom of each drawer and run lines into a funnel connected to the back for proper drainage… was thinking like clear flexi PVC tubing

I’m worried it’ll rot otherwise

Cool idea. In my limited gardening experience, drainage is important for most things, but hopefully one of the many farmer types on here will know more

Thanks! I’ve been wanting to repurpose it for years :)

Definitely need draining IMO and I would go with a more secure lining than just spray if you did go down that route. Alternatively, if you wanted to repurpose it again down the line (I.e. no holes) you could find pots that fit and put them in on pot stands.

Hmmm… actually the pots idea is a pretty good one… maybe still waterproof in case of any over flow and spraying and then just put water in little terra cotta pot stands

Thanks! 🫂
