Unpopular view:

For a westerner, the gain in quality of life from zero to median income, is about 100 fold the magnitude of quality of life gains from median income to billionaire.

People think wealth and quality of life are linear, but this is completely wrong. For some reason nobody believes it?

Capitalism is incredible because it delivers tremendously oversized quality of life gains at the median income level.

Between your smartphone, your mattress, your refrigerator, and your wardrobe, you have 97% of what is possible for a King.

You can pretty much travel to any place, see any sight, access any information, see or consume any art or eat any food.

The average person today has a preferable quality of life than eg Luis XVI, or Eisenhower.

If you ever find yourself wanting, you should first make full use of the things you already have.

The problem with modern wealth disparity isn't about access to material goods (exceedingly abundant) it is with the access to the top mating partners and perceived social status (quite finite). I ain't saying she's a gold digger but... you know the rest

that’s just a fiat and culture problem though, we’ve evolved from dominance hierarchies which are engraved in our species and other primates, there’s nothing wrong with hierarchal structures and competition but there’s definitely problem with fiat and brain dead people.🤣

Sure... Women control the supply of sex, and women want to mate with the top prospects of males in a given network (society, city, social click, ect.) They roughly gauge the rank of males based on wealth and status (correlated but not a 1:1). As a network gets larger it becomes more efficient and produces more goods (wealth for everyone) but due to the power law of the universe (the square root of the participants in any system do half the total work) in effect a narrowing of the % of males doing the majority of the work. For example a small town of 10,000: 100 males (square root of 10,000) will be doing half the work and will be considered desirable. In a city of 1,000,000 that square root drops down to 1,000. So the "wealth" disparity increases for the males in a given system as the system grows.

You can see this in the data as the millennial and gen z are having a rapid increase in males that have not had sex in the last year (roughly 1/3 !) This is in stark contrast to the silent generation at the same age. I believe this is due to the difference I urbanization (larger networks) and the effects of the power law

You can kind of see this dynamic in this scene from A Beautiful Mind... the only difference is that this scene is non-sense because males do not determine mating partners females do... most likely in reality the group of females would pit these group of males against each other and see who came out the "alpha". Then each female would via to mate with only him, with two or three succeeding
