Nurse as long as you can then transfer to food. I'm a guy, but we had 5 kids - wife nursed (and for first 2 she worked) almost up to a year and froze milk to get over a year to 18 months. Start freezing milk right away so you can trick husband into getting up at night (and have milk for the later months).

It's HARD getting started - but worth it.

There is no good baby formula.
