When I was younger I craved fancy. I wanted into the “exclusive” parties and events. Those events intentionally create an air of ‘you have to be good enough to get into here’, and I fell for that. I was determined to prove that I was good enough. But when I did finally get in there, that’s what I found, a sea of people desperately trying to prove themselves. People being lead around by the latest status symbol.

Unhealthy, to put it politely. And not at all the victory I was hoping for.

At the dive bar you find the humble but the unambitious. At the VIP party you find the ambitious but soulless.

Finding the magical combo of the soulfully ambitious is no easy task. I still don’t have the formula. But the early days of Bitcoin came pretty close. 🧡
