What most people don’t realize is that this technology is already installed on most vehicles. On Star = kill switch. A vehicle with any type of factory installed: gps, roadside assistance or hotspot probably has remote kill capability. Even Bluetooth enabled vehicles. Law enforcement agencies haven’t been given the go ahead to use them yet. That’s what this bill is really about. Imagine government having the ability to remotely disable everyone’s vehicles in order to enforce a quarantine?

Secondly, the driver ability kill switch is also already installed too. Try taking a modern car to a snowy parking lot and doing some donuts. The newest car we own is a 2016 Kia and it kills itself every time the back end slides a few feet. How are people supposed to learn how to drive in snow? By learning what it feels like to loose control behind the wheel and then understanding how to regain it by operating the controls is a critical part of learning how to drive IMHO. Thank goodness the government is doing their best to protect me from myself. I might learn how to evade them.
