This doesn’t seem made up: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/mar/18/canadian-actor-jasmine-mooney-detained-mexico-border how wouldn’t this be a real concern? All it takes is one asshole border agent to throw you in the can for two weeks.

Best to clear customs at the airport, that way you can’t be detained if they refuse entry, you can just go home

Same with local LEOs. I have a hard time balancing stories of bad Leo’s and the attitude of respect my parents taught me. Gets really complicated when trying to teach my kiddos.
