#nostr is different and is a unique place. Unlearn everything about follow to follower ratios that doesn't matter here. Follow accounts/people that share your interests and you enjoy talking too. Use hashtags to find others who share in your interests and hobbies.

Just be yourself, talk to people, build out your tribe/network, take part in the ecosystem. Post content that is meaningful to you, people will find that content and like, zap you as they share in the content you produce. You will get random people zapping, liking, commenting on your stuff even if their not followers.
