Lightning wallets that only work with a single node are bad for the entire network. If you can't connect to other nodes, it's a huge centralization factor. If that node you can only connect to is one of the biggest on the network, they can mass exit attack with ease. Goodbye unilateral exits on Lightning. Self custody on other layers doesn't mean anything when you can't fall back on chain.

Not only can you connect to other lightning nodes with Mutiny, but soon you'll be able to set multiple LSPs to have a wider selection of automated channel management providers and to remove as much lock in as possible.

It's not centralizing for the network unless every starts using that wallet and no one is making alternatives. There are always tons new wallet implementations being worked on. ie it will centralized if it's the best implementation. You say it's not a good implementation. So your point is moot.
