I like a lot of stuff, like cooking and fitness for example. But I also like discussions about nostr and censorship too.
same, run two other npubs with topical interests only, no community or engagement achieved

there are gardener homesteaders on here that only post about that
there are art focused accounts that only post about that
we embrace those but ostracize the most ardent adopters of nostr just because of btc...
I’m actually totally confused about why you guys feel this way, bitcoin is like the #1 most discussed topic on nostr by far. Who is pushing you out exactly?
I’m not sure about the first point but I agree with the second. Nostr used to be like 99% bitcoin posts but it’s better now. I don’t really care if ppl like bitcoin but most are cultists that say ridiculous things and don’t want to have actual discussions about the problems it has.
On my end I'm referring to a few devs that have pushed the idea of using algos or pre filtering the onboarding of new users to not show Bitcoin related content or npubs
To me that runs against the ethos of nostr, with that said I know many don't want to engage with the content or people so if they choose not to that's đź‘Ť. I just don't like the idea of a dev or client silencing a topic or group of people
I agree with you, and there’s actually a lot of censorship that goes on because of the way some clients work. Like some clients hide ppl with no followers, or if some of the ppl you follow mute someone, they’ll be muted for you too automatically.
Agree, the current web of trust or filtering of user implementations have a long way to go
