Sometimes good-intentioned regulations lead to perverse consequences. Like Meta trying to get root access to your phone in the name of interoperability.
For me, this underscores the imperative that we need to develop capabilities that are independent of the phone platforms.
Meh. I think iOS and iPadOS will be forced to give more options to apps in the Settings screen and that will be the end of it.
But I consider that a win for myself as a consumer. I want to be able to block apps *Apple apps including* to get certain types of data from my devices.
