I don't see it like that. I think being conscious of your pain and being in a safe space that allows you to feel is always helpful. but what I agree it misses is the possibility to go beyond the ego, because the therapist must also be willing to dismantle his own ego while listening. but it's not a therapy issue, but something we all stuggle with.
