Why is Sexual and Reproductive Health education important in public primary schools, especially for girls here in Malawi?

Many girls grow up without proper knowledge about their bodies, their health, and the resources available to support their well-being. Without this information, they struggle to stay in school and remain confident during a very critical stage of their development.

At this age, girls need guidance, motivation, and career direction if they are to progress to secondary school and eventually college. When they understand their bodies and their rights, they are able to make informed decisions that protect their future.

As part of promoting girl child education, Girl Think Initiative conducts Sexual and Reproductive Health sessions in schools. These sessions empower girls with the knowledge they need to stay healthy, stay safe, and stay in school.
