Pain tolerance is great until you have experienced pain for years, then it just wears on your soul even though you can handle it acutely. High pain tolerance is a double edged sword.
Yeah, I've got something like that going on. Nothing can be done about that, though, without major surgery. But the dentist thing is different - I've been carrying around a cavity so big he almost took the whole tooth, but i didn't really feel it. I felt something, but not pain. I mean, the months it was there, not the drilling with Novocaine or whatever he injected.
