Im not a huge fan. It's hard to get coins for it. There's no mining, so it doesnt really simulate bitcoin or any of the block time dynamics. I think it's useful for certain things (if you can get coins), but for working with bitcoin consensus, testnet is really much closer to mainnet.

In signet, you make your own coins, right?

You can, if you set it up as federation. But in the regular signet that is already done.

Maybe we are talking about different things. I’m referring to the network you spin up yourself, and make coins with a command line invocation.

Regtest. But you can do it with signet too. There's also an official signet.

Regtest then. Whatever Polar spins up.
