It's no joke though... the fiat incentives... problem is they ARE profitable. I have a small mortage, and it is more profitable for me not to pay it down
Exactly. The system is built to reward the smart debtor, not the saver. When inflation runs faster than your mortgage rate, paying it down becomes an emotional choice, not a rational one. It’s not you, the incentives are broken.

Bitcoin should be about self-custody and avoiding trusted intermediary. You can't assume debt against your Bitcoin and remain sovereign in your Bitcoin holdings.
