Well, there's not a hell of a lot more they could be doing than google and co are already doing, at the system and firmware level.
I almost never use my phone anymore anyhow, I'd already have gleefully smashed it to shards if it weren't for needing my fiat offramp.

I'm sure you know that google doesn't give the source of the firmware. There's basically no mobile devices, and no laptops or even desktops that don't have mysterious things in the firmware.
The kernels have a lot of mitigations for them though, but these bastards have the edge with their government protected monopolies.
I've been following the open hardware/firmware thing for literally decades. They don't want us to own our hardware.
Also, how do you do your fiat ramps? I don't have the convenience of a stable location and have had to contend with neobanks for several years now, and all of them basically you can't use them without play services, both Revolut and iCard refuse to run on a rooted device also.
It's not Amethyst per se it's where you're posting the image to be hosted from. I use "nostr.build - trusted". When I use any of the "verified" ones, I get what you're getting.
