Yes, this is just a funny stuff, but it's a peace to the puzzle.

Of course, the deal breaker is the closeness of the iOS system, with Apple as it's gatekeeper.

What? Try to develop and distribute some app on IOS and Android.

I can ship APK here and now for everyone to download and use.

To ship on iOS you need permission from the gatekeeper.

This is HUGE difference.

I have an app on both platforms. I have published an apk. 0 downloads.

So you are right in theory, in practice if you get kicked out of play store, you don't have users.

That's why PWAs are better, because most people have an experience (either Twitter PWA like me or Pornhub like everyone else😂)

If you are kicked out of Google's Play Store you lose users.

If you are kicked out of Aplles's App Store you don't have the app.

This is the key difference.
