How do I get a link to change my avatar(the little image next to my name)? I uploaded a photo to Nostr and then saved to my gallery and then copied the URL I get when I click share and then pasted that into the banner URL and the avatar URL. How do I get my image to change? #nostrpleb

definitely easier using the right client, with Amethyst is just to click and search in your device for the avatar pic, select and is done for you
Few things you should know:
1. get a check mark in #Nostr, there are few options, I suggest nostrcheck.me, once you get it, edit your profile and update your Nostr-Address, not having it will hide you in some clients
2. follow hashtags, a good way to find like minded people
3. think of your nsec as your Bitcoin private keys, act accordingly
4. chose a client that respect your privacy, meaning, you can sign in with a Signer protecting your nsec, it has TOR built in and above all, you can manage the relays you use. What does the Nostr name help with?
the algorithms used in Nostr clients and possibly in some relays plus a readable address
the most obvious reason is to have a readable address, you don't go a tell your friends, hey, follow me in Nostr and here is my address and you give them your npub... not very appealing, instead, a readable Nostr Name is easy to remember and store in contacts, like an email, which is cool and convenient.
the not so obvious, Nostr Name increases the odds of being a real user instead of a bot. being an open platform the amount of fake accounts and bots is growing so the algorithms created for content and some clients like Primal will shadow ban from their relays users with no check mark, meaning, Nostr Name

I'm trying to zap you. It doesn't seem to work but doesn't give an error. Is strike also limiting the amount I can zap to be 100 or more?
don't know, but I would not use strike for zapping, nor receiving, you may receive too many per day and strike may ban you or created problems for you
I will suggest Wallet of Satoshi (the zaps are mostly free), if in USA and not using a VPN that could be a problem, another alternative is Minibits or Coinos

you don't need to do nothing of that, just get the readable user name, username@nostrcheck.me, that way, you can be funded and share your profile using it, I assume you will choose MNMechke@nosyrcheck.me
add that to your user ID in the setting of the app, if Amethyst , go to setting, profile puf in in your "Nostr Address"
check the one you selectdd, once is done and you added you will observe a check mark close to the name, adding value to the WOT in Nostr algorithms that will make you a more believable human instead of a not, not that bots can't but less likely
