Baz Luhrmann’s Great Gatsby had my 12 yr old self begging my parents to go see it with me at the theatre.

Still such an incredible rendition of the great gatsby. I do still love the original though, the final scene was unmatched. But they didn’t have Jay-Z or Lana’s music in that one.

Yes! One of my favourites of recent times!

The original being the 1974 Jack Clayton movie? I haven’t seen that one, though I did see Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation and I read the book.

Yes, that was the first one I watched, my mom loves it and always made us watch it. It has a lot more from the book than Baz’s.

Hm, maybe I’ll watch it tonight or later this week. This is the best review of the book I’ve ever read, timed to coincide with the 2013 movie’s release. The reviewer, #[3], is even technically on Nostr, but he hasn’t posted for a while.

I agree, new one was good but the one with Robert Redford was much better. It was more aligned with the book in my opinion.
