Saint Calistrat, born in 1740, felt a deep call to monasticism early in life. After a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, he became a monk at Timișeni Monastery. He later became abbot, known for his wisdom and compassion. During times of unrest and plague, he cared for the sick and provided spiritual guidance. He emphasized prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. He reposed peacefully in 1821, leaving behind a legacy of faith and service.
