I’ll try to give a thoughtful response here, but it’s me, so it can only be so thoughtful. Most people don’t care at all who someone sleeps with. The idea that we must celebrate what people do in their private lives is very weird and off putting. When they gay community was not accepted in “polite society” they really did need to fight for their rights. They won their rights, justly. They then ran out of an activist mission to keep fighting for, and have taken it to new levels where the rest of society is being asked to pledge their allegiance to someone else’s sexual preference. If you don’t actively profess your love for that, you’re shunned as a bigot. It’s about holding power over people by declaring moral superiority. This position is then pushed by every corporation, Hollywood, the media, etc. It’s like seeing an ad for someone’s toothpaste preference 24/7. It’s trivial to the things that matter in life. Corporations jumping on board to virtue signal while not giving two shits about anyone gay just adds gasoline on the fire. We don’t need to be inundated with something that is completely irrelevant to who a person is or what their character is.
I hope this was a fair representation of the frustration many of us feel. Yes, ultimately one should ignore all of it and get on with their life though. It’s just very hard in our culture and society to do so.
