Are you torrenting? The torrent apps on Umbrel all mention they dont use Tor so you would need to figure out how to route them seperately or run a network wide service, which may mess with how Umbrel routes itself. I only use Umbrel in a Ubuntu VM for crypto related stuff and a Nostr relay so I am not too familiar with it.

Ty for pointing this out! I jumped the gun and thought everything was done via Tor. I'm gonna use a different OS for my RasPi then. I had intended to use it as a NAS anyway so I'm gonna shop around for a distro. I just really liked the easy set up and app store GUI thing on my Umbrel node and saw it had a bunch of non BTC and LN related apps and figured I'd stick to Umbrel because it's easy, but I'm not afraid of some command line stuff.

Also wanna mess with stirfry and simpleX servers/relays , so yeah 😅

If the raspi can handle a debian linux you could run umbrel inside it. Umbrels website gives a terminal command for quick setup. That way you can torrent with linux, route through tor or vpn, and then have it go to the content folder you use (umbrel or not) while still running umbrel how you do now. It also means you can use umbrel for whats supported there and host in linux for unsupported things or better control.

I wouldnt enjoy using an RPI for managing everything due to the hardware. It may be best to have one RPI for bitcoin, another for media hosting and torrenting, another for running a virtual router, etc.

Oh, dont forget to hide the DNS as well. IP is no longer the only way to track so use a Quad9 upstream DNS.

Also gonna look into this

Ty so much, I didn't know thus! It's the latest raspi with the larger memory but full Ubuntu is leggy on it so I'm gonna use their official OS Rasbian based on debian and try it the way you're suggesting!
