I think this is historically how people operated, and the reason that we’ve evolved to accept people even when they have some traits or history we don’t like.

Modern social media, instant news cycles, and views & clicks are king has ruined that. Extremism, hate, and no context rule.

#nostr fixes this

Nostr is like a small community. You get some when you give some. It’s social media with irl consequences and love and challenges. nostr:note1axa6vg8ma5w40z3jtdycf4zs8aktl77n76wktpm5ksmr2g4um4jsy58w5l

Yeah the web of trust makes it costly to be a dick on nostr because reputation is so hard to build but so easily lost. Your message is less likely to get amplified if people just don't like you. No algos to manipulate in here.

lust for amplification and being liked have cost us all a lot of truth, which is for the few anyway, so ... ahhhh....

Yeah it's a balance for sure. If your goal is to get the truth out to people outside your friends and family,, you're probably less likely to achieve that goal by picking fights and being a dick as opposed to being smart and understanding the people you're trying to reach.

whatever dude. people call EVERYTHING "picking a fight" when they have chosen to rationalize their preferred bovine-like pacified and apathetic modality.

i understand the dynamic quite well. Coddling it is just another mans version of the same self-serving grift.

funny how it all masks itself as "good" though.

You see your reality as you are 🙂

the whole problem(and arrogance dare i say) with that statement can be revealed by holding it firmly in mind whilst staring at and contemplating the following:
