it's not really about the boat so much as the fact that you're able to have something, something that you can call your own. As it stands for me, my whole life I've never had hope of ever having anything that's mine.

I bought the boat for $27.5k. (That’s a down payment for a house.) So far, including a hotel for six weeks, I’ve spent about $5k getting her launched and moved aboard. Now my only expenses are this phone, dockage until it warms up and I can move to an anchorage, food, and little things I like to have but don’t need. Eventually there I’ll be repair work major upgrades I want but don’t need. But Star Fire is in great shape.
