I still find the Bitcoin vs. crypto name distinction unclear. Bitcoin is cryptographically backed, so it falls under the category of cryptocurrencies. Maybe it’s better to think of Bitcoin as cryptographically backed ‘money’ rather than ‘currency’?

And yes I understand the differences between Bitcoin and other forms of currencies and/or money or altcoins/shitcoins but Bitcoin is essentially backed by cryptocurrency and it being a currency that should label it a cryptocurrency.

But again maybe cyptomoney is a better term to fit the bill.

My take on this is that people started saying Bitcoin, not crypto, because we want people to buy the best cryptocurrency ever created and that's Bitcoin, when you just say crypto, people automatically think Dodgecoin Shiba, XRP chainlink etc.
