There's the so-called master private key, which gives you access to all your bitcoin addresses and there is one private key per address, which only controls this one address.

Okay. So your seed words contain every information needed to find out all your public and private keys and all their addresses. They are not the keys themselves but giving away those words has the same effect as giving away your keys.
