Just implemented it for public messages, but it should also apply to microblogs, as an option.

Also helps relays clean up, with needing to store deletion requests.

Is there really so much data to store?

there are phones that can store the entirety of Nostr including all of the spam with room to spare.

With the right data structures, that's basically every phone
