Footage shows a tiny 100-ton Taiwanese Coast Guard patrol boat shadowing a massive Chinese Coast Guard ship during ongoing PLA exercises simulating a blockade of Taiwan.

China launched "Justice Mission 2025" on Monday, its first major military exercises around Taiwan since April. Seven exclusion zones will be sealed off for live-fire drills Tuesday.

Maj. Gen. Meng Xiangqing, China's National Defense University:

"Our vessels and aircraft have been forming a new posture of pressing the island by getting closer and closer.

The rope is being pulled tighter and tighter."

Taiwan has detected 14 Chinese Navy vessels, 14 coast guard ships, and an amphibious assault group in the Western Pacific.

Dozens of aircraft. Destroyers, fighter bombers, drones conducting "search-and-destroy operations."

The timing: Days after Trump announced an $11 billion arms package to Taiwan including HIMARS rocket systems.

Airlines cancelled flights to Taiwan's outlying islands.

Some analysts say the exclusion zones could effectively block north-south passage through the strait.

But a Pentagon report last week said China's leaders still aren't confident they can take Taiwan by force.

That tiny patrol boat knows it.
