Our bodies crave pleasure, and we can't change that. In the past, whatever gave us pleasure was beneficial for our lives and survival. Nowadays, things have changed, and we get cheap pleasure from artificial sources.
The problem is that our bodies can't distinguish whether the pleasure we experience is beneficial or destructive. Once we receive enough pleasure, the body relaxes and stops seeking meaningful actions and beneficial progress.
If you're finding pleasure in things like food, watching TV, music, alcohol, or anything else that's not beneficial to your life, you'll become satisfied and relax. You won't pursue what's truly important.
If you want to achieve greatness, you must eliminate all cheap, meaningless pleasures from your life. Yes, it's difficult. We are all like addicts, craving these quick pleasures, and the mere thought of quitting can cause panic. But if you want to accomplish great things, there's no other way.
Set up your life so that you derive pleasure only from meaningful activities that propel you forward!
