You won't like this opinion, but the "great" anarcho-capitalist thinkers have a totally incomplete theory. Their theory leads to a world with large monopolies where workers are little more than worthless meat, as in communist regimes.

Everyone overlooks the need for a counterweight in society, such as voluntary market unionism, or what we might call individualist anarcho-syndicalism.

Do you think they ignore it out of ignorance? 😂 Where did most anarcho-capitalist thinkers come from? Think about it.

Here, you are not safe from anyone, not even your own ideology. The world is and always will be a game of interests, and you are just a pawn for the elites.

Get out of there, think for yourself, not for others. Make selfishness your weapon and your virtue.

False. A competitor can always copy a company's process and compete to make the product cheaper. The only thing preventing this are government decrees and government issued patents etc.

I'm very suprised to hear it on Nostr of all places. There are no examples of monopolies ever existing without an authoritarian government structure. Looking forward to his rebuttle 👍

The idea that structures could act in a more social way than humans is the main issue of the left. They have so much admiration for grids that entrap individuals that they often forget these grids will soon become tools of the worst individuals and predators. Governments that should create a peaceful environment are the main cause of wars and economical crisis. I agree with them that monopolies are the issue but absolutely disagree on the idea that some beneficial syndacate will maintain his etics and will not become an even worst monopoly uniting the power of money, law and cohercion.

A monopoly is understood as an exclusive grant of state privilege that prohibits free entry of other competitors into the market. Without legal barriers to entry, there can be no true monopoly.

With the importance of free entry into markets. If there are no laws preventing competitors from entering an industry, then even if one firm dominates the market currently, it does not constitute a monopoly in the strict sense.

Tell me why Microsoft, if it hadn't been there, couldn't continue buying up competing companies and closing them down as it has done for years?

Microsofts codebase could be opensourced and or copied and sold cheaper on the market outbidding microsoft by a competitor, so there would be atleast the possibility of a direct competitor since there are no gates preventing them to do so.

Of course they can buy and grow themselfs through buying competition but these are all economic voluntary decisions by the competitors to sell out to microsoft
