oh man, I just read BIP 177. What could possibly go wrong, if we suddenly name bitcoin sth that is 1/100000000 of it 🤦‍♂️

To "reduce confusion"? And then comes lightning with another msat unit 🤣

And then BIP 176, what's the reasoning that bit is 1/1000000 of a bitcoin? Like 1 byte has 8 bits, not a million. Bit is a binary 0/1 container.

I thought there was some deeper research and development put into this BIP in the year 2025.
